Pregnancy and the early weeks with a new baby are two very different experiences — and both are worth documenting. The Bump to Bundle offer pairs a maternity session with either a Fresh 48 or an in-home newborn session, giving you a fuller picture of this transition at two different points in time.
It’s not about getting a deal. It’s about having one photographer who knows your family through both chapters.
The Maternity Session
Your maternity session documents where you are before your baby arrives — the anticipation, the connection, the particular way this pregnancy looks and feels. Whether at home or outdoors, we’ll find a setting that reflects you.
I didn’t document my own pregnancies the way I wish I had. Those months pass, and what you’re left with is memory — which is real, but different from a photograph. If you’re on the fence about a maternity session, that’s usually the thing that tips people.
Popular locations for maternity sessions:
- China Beach — coastal light, Golden Gate views
- Joaquin Miller Park — forested trails in the Oakland Hills
- UC Berkeley Botanical Garden — lush, quiet paths
- Fort Point — dramatic backdrop with the bridge
- Your home — intimate and personal
The In-Home Newborn Session
The in-home newborn session documents the early weeks at home — a different kind of moment than the hospital, more settled, more lived-in. We work at your baby’s pace, without a timeline to stick to.
You can schedule shortly after coming home or wait until you’ve found your footing — timing is flexible.
The Fresh 48 Session
If you choose a Fresh 48 instead of an in-home session, I’ll come to the hospital within the first 48 hours after your baby arrives. These are the rawest, most immediate photos — before things start to shift and more people move in and out.
Available at major Bay Area hospitals:
- CPMC Van Ness Campus
- UCSF
- Kaiser
- Alta Bates Summit Medical Center
- John Muir Medical Center
- And other Bay Area locations

When to Book Your Sessions
-
- Maternity session: 28–35 weeks
- In-home newborn session: within the first 3 months
- Fresh 48: within the first 48 hours at the hospital
Why Book Both
The maternity and newborn sessions document two different parts of this transition. When the same person photographs them, there’s a continuity to them — same approach, same relationship, same care. You already know each other by the time your baby arrives, which makes the newborn session easier for everyone.
