Golden hour is always hailed as the most beautiful time for photos because of the amazing light, and it is beautiful but morning light is also wonderful. Evening sessions for families of young children can be challenging, especially to encourage kids to play, be engaged, and have fun so close to bedtime. Early morning sessions can be a wonderful alternative! And aren’t your kids up bright and early every morning, especially on the weekends when who can possibly sleep in anyway?! Why not take advantage of an early morning family session! This is exactly what this family opted for and it worked out perfectly!

We met at Crissy Field on what turned out to be a beautiful San Francisco morning with very few clouds in the sky, even so early! A perfect morning for adventures. We played, explored, watched the fisherman on the pier, felt a live crab, climbed the rocks, played silly and fun games on the beach, and most importantly documented memories of just being together. As a mom, I sometimes feel like I blink and my kids have grown 2 inches, learned 25 new words, how to ride a bike, etc. Though cliche, childhood does fly by so what better way to hold onto it than exploring the city you love together as a family and documenting those joyful moments together.
